about

Hi,
I'm Lucas.

A creative tech enthusiast:
I build interactive systems where design and engineering meet.

After building an edtech simulation tool to create a path into robotics for students, I stumbled into a question that over the years became mine: how to make tech more acessible through fun experiences?

I

I seek to create meaningful software.

At 18 I started building sBotics: a 'small' attempt to help kids who couldn't afford a robotics kit still learn and compete. It grew into the official simulated platform for the Brazilian Robotics Olympiad, reaching 5000 users over six years, and led to my first papers (first author, Springer). Since then, every project I've worked on and every job I've held has directly affected people's lives in some way. I need to find something noble in what I'm doing. Money is a consequence, not the thing I'm chasing.

II

I run from shallow simplicity.

To me, no project exists without worldbuilding. Even a simple 2D website for a car wash needs a world around it: rules, tone, and a reason for everything to be there. That's how a project becomes polished, coherent, and aware of what it is. Nothing I build is ever just "one thing". There is always more beneath the surface: including this site.

III

I search for what matters.

I'm interested in balance: how do we get the most impact from the smallest changes? For me 20% of the implementation creates 80% of a platform's feel. I like working "surgically": knowing where to intervene, what to leave alone, and how to make the tools we already have work harder. I'm not interested in just executing or jumping to conclusions, I want to think through the full architecture. As AI takes on more of the execution, the thinking part will matter more and more in the coming years.

Relevant Experience

I've been working since 2018 in 3 different locations. Not everything I've done belongs here, only what's relevant to the profile I'm building.
